课程简介

The East, a mysterious country, a long forgotten land.

However, the Oriental Art did not wither due to forgetting, but grew tenaciously, showing abundant vitality. A group of world-class directors appeared in the oriental film history, such as Akira Kurosawa, Yasujiro Ozu, Satyajit Ray, Fei Mu, Abbas Kiarostami, Kwon-taek Im, etc. A large number of masterpieces were given to birth including “In the Woods”, “Tokyo Story”, “Twenty-Four Eyes”, “Ballad of Narayama”, “Spring in a Small Town”, “My Memories of Old Beijing”, “Farewell My Concubine”, “The Tramp”, “Apur Sansar”, “Seopyeonje” and so forth, which can rival any excellent western film. However, for historical reasons, the Oriental Films have remained in a weak position and unknown in the world film industry. People are familiar the Western Films but know just a little of the Oriental films. So, what exactly is the case with the Oriental Films? Let us lift off her mysterious veil!
