课程简介
体育英语I是一门公共类通识英语课程，内容主要包括体育运动项目介绍、体育教师课堂用语和奥运会基本知识阅读等。通过32学时的系统学习，使学生掌握田径、足球、篮球、排球、乒乓球、羽毛球、网球七个常见运动项目基础知识，包括起源、管理机构、场地、基本技术、赛制、记分制度、基本规则、主要赛事以及著名运动员介绍等，要求学生能够用所学的基本英语词汇和句型对这些项目进行简单介绍。与此同时，通过自学拓展阅读材料，学会用英语组织体育课堂教学，全面了解奥运会的历史和发展等。
本课程旨在拓展学生的国际视野，提高他们在体育专业领域实际运用英语语言的能力，在培养良好的意志品质和思维习惯的同时，增强参与国际交流的自信心以及观赏体育比赛的基本素养，为今后从事与体育相关的工作如体育教师、教练、裁判以及国际体育赛事志愿者等打下良好的基础。
本课程的特色和亮点在于英语语言知识、体育专业知识和思政内容的有机融合，依托浅显易懂的文本介绍体育项目，配以丰富的的图片和视频资料，在例句选择和讨论题的设计上也颇具匠心，尽量做到与体育相关，并带有积极的思政元素，让学生在充分理解文本的基础上既学习了语言，又掌握了体育专业知识，还能进一步培养爱国主义精神、公平竞争意识、以及积极的人生态度。
讲授课程的六位教师语言能力强，语音语调标准，能够使学生感受到标准的英语语言所带来的魅力。
