Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a medical system to deal with human physiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. The theoretical system takes the physiology and pathology of zang-fu organs and meridians as its basis, and treatment by differentiation of syndromes as its diagnostic and therapeutic features.

This course gives a complete and systematic exposition to the following various subjects: the introduction of TCM, the philosophical theories applied in TCM, the visceral manifestation, the four basic substances , etiology and pathogenesis, diagnostic methods , therapeutic methods, Chinese medicinal, formulas, common diseases.

The theories and treatments of TCM have been repeatedly in use and refined over this long period of time. TCM has plenty of empirical science. It is also a way of life, a kind of culture.
