课程背景
1. 新融合大学英语课程是高等学校人文教育的一部分，兼具工具性和人文性双重性质。高校开设大学英语课程，一方面是满足国家战略需要，为国家改革开放和经济社会发展服务，另一方面是满足学生专业学习、国际交流、继续深造、工作就业方面的需求。
2. 新融合大学英语是一门旨在培养学生语言应用能力、自主学习能力、跨文化交际能力与学术英语能力为目标的综合性英语课程。本课程通过融合信息化时代新兴教学资源呈现方式“在线课程”与新兴教学模式“翻转课堂”，探索一种可促进大学英语有效学习发生的学习模式。
课程目标
1. 以英语实际使用为导向，强化学生通用语言能力。
2. 融合专业基础知识以及跨文化知识，满足学生多元化的英语学习需求。
3. 促进学生英语综合应用能力和跨文化交际能力的培养。
课程设计原则
1. 英语综合应用能力、思辨能力和跨文化交际能力培养并重。
2. 充分融合线上的在线课程平台与线下的“翻转课堂”教学，延伸课堂教学，使英语学习不受时空限制，让每位学生都能以舒适的方式参与到学习过程中。
3. 富有知识性、趣味性、思辨性。
课程内容
本课程共八单元，设有主题导入、课文梳理、词汇解析、句子分析、英语修辞、文化导入和学术阅读等板块。通过本课程的学习，学生可以对校园生活、人际关系、爱情、亲情、人与动物、健康、传统习俗和奇迹八个主题进行思考并用英语表达自己的观点；能对记叙文、议论文等不同文体的文章进行结构分析并对主题进行批判性思考；能够掌握英语合成词、缩略词的构成规则，了解inter-，-en等七种词缀的构词规则和基本词义；能够掌握英语五种基本句型并对英语句子进行结构分析；了解倒装句、强调句和感叹句的构成形式；掌握时间状语从句、表语从句、定语从句和条件状语从句的构成及用法；能够了解明喻、排比和拟人三种修辞格的基本概念并对修辞效果进行分析；能够对AP、儒家思想和基督教、安徒生、十二生肖、中西医、中国梦和美国梦等文化要素有基本的了解，并对东西方文化进行对比。
