English Language Teaching Methodology, a compulsory course for English education majors in Weinan Normal University, is designed to be completed within12 weeks at the 5th semester. The course book used is A course in English Language Teaching (the 2nd edition), edited by Wang Qiang and published by Higher Education Press. Well take up Unit 1-Unit 12 in this book, except Unit 3. By using Problem-solving and Case Analysis Method in the teaching, the course is aimed at the reconstruction of pre-service teachers’ belief, the cultivation of teacher knowledge, and the continuing development of teachers’  professional competence. With a highly qualified and dedicated course team, it will motivate and give students an excellent opportunity

 to enhance an understanding of the nature foreign language teaching process, theories about language and language learning.

to improve the ability to choose appropriate strategies for good classroom management, lesson planning, teaching culture in teaching English, and the selection of teaching materials.

to develop the techniques for teaching pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar and the practical methods of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
