    HCD is exclusively suitable for incremental innovation.
    Only changes in meaning or technology can lead to radical innovation
    In particular, changes in meaning define the so called design-driven innovation
    Changes in technology can introduce you to the innovation network.

  • 2.3Design, complexity, and systems thinking

    The problem is OPEN, as it has no boundaries – Who should be accountable for the poor result? Who originated the problem?
    The problem is COMPLEX, as it consists of many elements and relationships - Which elements should I cut and remove from the system to solve the problem?
    The problem is DYNAMIC, as it changes over time - Maybe we find a solution to the problem, and immediately afterwards a new policy prevents us from resorting to that solution.
    The problem is NETWORKED across organisations.
